• Notice :- Club AGM

  This year's AGM is to be held on Tuesday 16th November at the Eastern Oswestry Community Centre and we have a committee meeting planned for 14th September to agree the agenda. Before we do this can I ask everyone to confirm that they are willing to carry on next year in their current roles, to help anyone if they've forgotten I've attached the minutes from last year's AGM.

   

  There will be one vacancy as I have decided to stand down as Head of Seniors so that someone fitter (i.e. they can actually run) can take over.

  Hi Everyone,
  If road relays are not your thing maybe you'd like to get a team together for this!

  Midland Cross Country Association Cross Country Relay Races, 4 men x 6K, 3 women x 6K, Melton Mowbray 2nd October £12 per team. Further details with me.

• Well done to Paul, Lauren and all who helped out at the Ellesmere 10k, a great race for the Oswestry Olympians to be proud of.

• Notice 3k Time trial at a Sports Council Evening

  I am organising a Sports Council Forum Evening on Friday, 17th September on Injury Prevention and Treatment.  A new Podiatrist has arrived in Shrewsbury who can make orthotics so he could be useful to club members who have been going to Manchester for their orthotics.  He and Robert Booth, Physiotherapist, are going to give a joint presentation but I want to start with some activity. 

   

  I hope that the Rugby Club will give a 30 minute warm up, rugby style, and alternatively Dave Newton will be co-ordinating of a 3 km handicap around the Park Hall course, like we used to many years ago !. Would be great if we could have club members to come along and join the fun.  Perhaps Ian & the Ellesmere Friday Night runners could move their run to Park Hall for that night so they can join in?  We would be based at the Rugby Club rather than The Venue but the route would be the same.

  The forum is open to club members of any Oswestry sports club (and their friends and relations!). So come along to what promises to be a very interesting and fun evening

• Making Sports Science Accessible

  Anyone interested in the science of performance might like to look into this new science lab in Wrexham. You can get every bit of you assessed for fitness performance!

   

  Feel free to contact Kerry Prime (contact details below) to arrange group or individual bookings there or if there are sufficient numbers they will bring the equipment to meet a group at another location.   Paul Davies currently has 20 names for the running weekend in the Yorkshire Dales at the beginning of November. He has confirmed the accomodation for 25 people so if you still want to go you need to contact Paul quickly before it is fully booked, his phone number is 07789740085. You are probably aware that Paul has also revived the Ellesmere 10K with a new and improved course. The date is Sunday 29th August and the entry form is now available on the club website
