    CAR ACCESS
    Some people are using Penylan Lane to access the back of the Marches Sportshall. This is strictly against the wishes of Marches school & the residents of Penylan Lane. Marches will be locking the access gates in the evening & specifically request that we do not allow either parking, dropping off or collecting via Penylan Lane. Marches have again written to us to express their displeasure. Please assist us to be responsible users of the Marches facilities & avoid being locked in.
    PLEASE Do not use your vehicle in Penylan Lane for any reason. Do not park in this area at any time, even though it's only you & you won't be long. Use the main school car park. Thank you.

    2008 Summer holidays Newsletter & training details

    Here's an interesting competition - A Cyber 3 event competition. No entry fee & £25 prize money.

    First you register - Which costs nothing. Then you enter any local competition/s of your choice within the given dates. Compete in the three events shown & then submit the best 3 performances from your various competitions. Competition is open to those born in 1992,3,4 or 5.
    The 1st competition runs between 27th August to 10th September & the 3 events are 200m High Jump & Javelin.
    2nd competition runs between 14th & 24th December & the 3 events are 60m Long Jump & Shot Putt.

    Oswestry Olympians at the BUSA (British University Championships

    Three former juniors now at University competed in the BUSA champs. Oli Blake confidently moved through his heat 1:55.36 1st & simi 1:53.58 to come 6th 1:51.55 in the 800m final. Ali Lavender came 4th in the 2000m Steeple Chase 7:09.59. Gemma Weetman collected 2 golds. She won the women's Long Jump with 6m18 & she was also first leg of the winning Brunel 4x400m relay team 3:41.49

    New Olympians Star??

    On her first appearance in the national rankings, Adele Nicholl shot to lead the U13 girls UK Shot Put rankings.

    Olli Blake now has lowered his 800m PB to 1:48.8 . This puts him 5th in his 1st year on the UK under 23 ranking


    Oswestry Olympians have now been awarded the Club Mark by Sport England

    Oswestry Olympians Hoodies

    Black Hoodies & beanie hats embroidered with the Olympians club logo can now be obtained from PR Sports in Oswestry (opposite the Post Office).
    These are excellent value with hats for £5 & junior Hoodies at only £9 (Yes just £9 including club logo) for sizes (28" -36" chest) and £11.50 for adult sizes. * We are advised that the sizes are not very generous so it is best to order a size bigger than usual.
    You can have your name embroidered on the Hoodies too for an extra £3. Great for those cold days!!

    The UKA 2004 Annual Review booklet which was distributed to all delegates at the NEC conference Sun 10th April 2005, had a photo & forward by CEO Dave Moorcroft. However the photo featured a number of Olympians past & present.
